Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of authors do you work with?

I work with writers at all stages of their publishing journey—self-published, traditionally published, hybrid, or still figuring it out. If you’ve written a book and want to share it with purpose and professionalism, we can work together.

What’s your background?

I am the author of two books, The Goodbye-Love Generation and Why I Dyed My Hair Purple and Other Unorthodox Stories. While the latter was released by a traditional publisher, I was responsible for booking podcast appearances, posting on social media, and running my launch team. Five days after the book’s release, the publisher’s website sold out. I will apply the same strategies I’ve used for my own successful book launches to your work so we can help you win.

On the marketing front, I have an extensive background as a copywriter and content strategist, which included earning certifications from Digital Marketer in copywriting, content, email marketing, data analysis, and customer value optimization. Armed with this expertise and my own author experience, I’m ready to take your book launch to the next level as we partner together.

Do I need to have a book finished to start working with you?

Not at all. In fact, the earlier you start planning your launch, the more focused and effective it will be. Whether you're finalizing edits or months out from release, we’ll build a strategy that fits your timeline.

How are your services different from hiring a publicist or a marketing agency?

Inkling Author Marketing Studio offers a personal, collaborative approach tailored to the creative mindset. You will be working with a fellow author who has proven experience launching books successfully. I’m not here to make you sound like a corporation or overwhelm you with a bunch of abbreviations—I’m here to help you show up as yourself, with strategy, clarity, and heart.

Do you build websites/run email marketing/run ads?

Inkling Author Marketing Studio purely creates done-for-you content that you can plug into your website and emails. I don't build or manage things, but I can knock out a huge, critical part of the process: giving you all the images and words you need to share your message so you can spend more time writing and talking about your work.

Can you help me if I'm relaunching or promoting a previously released book?

Absolutely. Whether your book came out last month or last year, we can create a fresh plan to bring new readers to your work and reintroduce it to your audience.

What if I want to do this myself?

I love empowering authors! Every done-for-you service includes personalized content and resources you can reuse. And if you want a more hands-on learning experience, we can focus your package around guided strategy, templates, and content coaching.

What if I'm not on social media—or don't want to be?
That's totally okay. I know sometimes it seems like social media is the only way to share about your writing, but it's just one way. We'll focus on what feels authentic to you, things like email marketing content, website copy, getting on podcasts, or sharing your work on local platforms like bookstores.

Can I book more than one service at a time?

Absolutely. Many of my clients choose to bundle services (like messaging + email marketing, or branding + social content). I also offer custom packages based on your launch goals and budget—just reach out and we’ll create something that fits.

How long does each service take?

Turnaround times vary based on the scope of the project, but most individual services are completed within 6 weeks. Larger packages may take longer depending on scheduling and revisions—we’ll always communicate timelines clearly at the start.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes—for larger packages or custom bundles, we can split the total into two or three payments. I want to make this process as accessible and stress-free as possible.

Do you work with indie presses or author collectives?

primarily serve individual authors, but I’m happy to collaborate with small presses or collectives who need support for their authors. Just reach out and let’s talk.

What if I’m not sure what I need yet?

That’s totally okay! Start by booking a free consultation, and we’ll talk through your goals, timeline, and priorities. From there, I can recommend the services that will have the biggest impact.
