Over the past few weeks on the blog, we’ve been talking about what makes sharing your writing so hard.
We’ve looked at the overwhelm that comes when you’re trying to reach readers in a noisy world, the fear of sounding pushy or inauthentic, and the exhaustion of putting your words out there and wondering if anyone is even listening.
If you’ve felt any of these things, I want you to know you’re not alone.
For many writers, finishing the draft isn’t the hardest part. The real challenge comes afterward, in the quiet moments when you’re trying to figure out how to share your words with the world.
You want your work to reach people who will care about it, but it’s hard to know where to start. You long to connect with readers, but you also want to protect your voice, your values, and the creative life you’ve built.
These are the conversations I’ve been having with writers for a long time, and they’re the reason I created Inkling Author Marketing Studios.
Not because writers need to hustle harder, but because they need gentle, practical support that helps their words find the people who need them.
Why I Created Inkling Author Marketing Studios
Before I founded Inkling, I spent years working as a copywriter and content strategist. I learned how to craft messages that connect, build trust, and encourage people to take meaningful action.
When I published my novel, The Goodbye-Love Generation, I applied what I knew about messaging and content strategy to my own book marketing. But I did it in a way that felt true to my voice, values, and faith—without hype or hustle.
And it worked.
I found readers who cared about my work. I learned how to share without feeling fake. I discovered rhythms that let me keep writing while building genuine connections with my audience.
Then, earlier this year, my second book, Why I Dyed My Hair Purple and Other Unorthodox Stories, was released by Calla Press Publishing. As I went through the process of organizing a launch team and connecting with readers, I discovered how much I’d learned to apply from my marketing career to my work as an author.
I discovered how to get creative with social media content, use tried-and-true email marketing techniques to increase reader engagement, and leverage my copywriting experience to craft attention-getting captions.
And it all paid off when my book sold out on the publisher’s website in less than five days.
That experience showed me how much writers aren’t taught about sharing their work and how isolating the process can feel as a result.
As a result, I started looking at what I do with Inkling Creative Strategies and wondering . . . if marketing is such a huge challenge for writers and I have proven abilities in the area of launching and sharing books with the world, why would I not use those skills to help others?
That’s why I created Inkling Author Marketing Studios: to offer author marketing support that is gentle, personalized, and rooted in your unique voice.
It’s just another way that authors can use their full creative potential to impact and inspire readers.
What Author Marketing Support Looks Like at Inkling
When most writers hear “marketing,” they think of shouting into the void, chasing algorithms, or feeling like they need to become someone else just to get noticed.
But I believe author marketing support should look different.
At Inkling Author Marketing Studios, we help you:
· Clarify your message so you know exactly what you want to say and who needs to hear it.
· Find sustainable rhythms for sharing your work without burning out.
· Create content that feels like an extension of your writing voice, not a forced “brand.”
· Launch your book or project with clarity and peace, not chaos.
· Build connections with your readers so your marketing feels relational, not transactional.
It’s not a one-size-fits-all formula. It’s a collaborative, supportive space for discovering what works for you.
Why Gentle Author Marketing Support Matters
Your writing is personal. Your stories, essays, poems, and books are part of you.
It’s normal to feel vulnerable about sharing them. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed by everything you’re told you “should” do to get your work into readers’ hands.
Author marketing support matters because it helps you navigate those feelings while taking practical steps forward.
It gives you guidance so you’re not guessing. It offers accountability so you can keep moving, even on hard days. It provides encouragement so you don’t lose sight of why you started writing in the first place.
And it helps you do all of this in a way that honors your voice, your faith, and your calling.
Who Inkling Author Marketing Studios Is For
Inkling Author Marketing Studios is for writers who want their words to reach the people who need them but aren’t sure how to get there.
It’s for writers who want to share their work with intention and purpose and without feeling like they’re performing or trying to keep up with trends.
It’s also for writers who care about building trust with their readers over time, rather than chasing quick wins through likes and follows. Maybe you want to find rhythms for sharing your work that support your writing life instead of draining it or learn how to share your work without sacrificing your values, faith, or creative integrity.
If you’ve been longing to share your writing but feel overwhelmed about where to start, or if you’re looking for practical, gentle guidance to take your next steps, Inkling Author Marketing Studios is here for you.
